The following picture is copied from page 43 of our KnowBrainer Dragon Installation/Training Guide which is complementary to our customers. Fortunately you can disable it by removing the checkmark from Use the Dictation Box for unsupported applications which you will find in the Dragon's Miscellaneous options.
We found Dragon's automatic Dictation Box to be clever in some situations but flat out a headache in most other situations. Dragon Premium 13 worked in WordPerfect X5 because it was compatible. Our best guess is that you purchased DPI 15.3 (Dragon Professional Individual) but because Dragon 15 was introduced before WordPerfect X9, it will not function in WordPerfect X9, as previously explained in this thread by Chuck and us.
